- Rule 1. The Tournoi de
Hockey Sud Ouest de Montréal is sanctionned by Hockey Québec.

- Rule 2. The Tournament
will respect the regular league schedule of participating teams, for
the first game of the Tournament as far as possible, as long as the
team as provided with a copy of the league schedule with their registration.
|
- Rule 3. Following the
publication of the official Tournament's schedule, no changes will be
made by the Tournament's direction, except for cases mentionned in the
Hockey Quebec rule book.
|
- Rule 4. Every team must
be at the arena, one (1) hour before scheduled game time. The team's
binder must be given to the REGISTRAIRE before the beginning the team's
first game. The team managers must think to get back the binder after
their last tournament game.

- Rule 5. The
binder must contained the following things:

|
- Rule 6. Tournament's
registered teams, must give the scoring sheets of regular league games
played during the tournament.
|
- Rule 7. Only the players,
coaches, managers, equipment managers and Tournaments staff have access
to locker room before and after games.
|
- Rule 8. All players that
sign the tournament's verification sheet must stay inside the locker
room.
|
- Rule 9. At the start
of the game, each participating team must have a minimum of eight (8)
players and one (1) goaltender dressed up.
|
- Rule 10. Each team can
dress up a maximum of nineteen (19) players, for instance seventeen
(17) players and one (1) or two (2) goaltenders.
|
- Rule 11. If there's confusion
with jersey colors, the receiving team must change jerseys. The Tournament's
REGISTRAIRE will provide the team with jerseys if needed.
|
- Rule 12. All players
participating in a Tournament game, must have signed the Tournament's
verification sheet before each game.
|
- Rule 13. A late player,
can join the game if his name appears on the scoring sheet, if the referee
vas informed and if he presents before the official start (faceoff)
of the second period ans if he previously signed the Tournament's verification
sheet.

- Rule 14. Any person officiating
behind the player's bench during a Tournament game, must have signed
a team registry form ans his name must be on the game's scoring sheet.
A maximum of five (5) persons is permitted behind the player's bench
during a Tournament game.

- Rule 15. The person signing
a the team's coach on a game scoring sheet, must have his coach's ACCREDITATIONcard.
|
- Rule 16. The games must
start at the schedule time on the Tournament's official schedule.
|
- Rule 17. A timed two
(2) minutes warm-up is going to be allowed to the teams, as soon as
the players of both teams on the ice.
|
- Rule 18. All tournament
games are composed of three (3) periods stopped time. All three periods
will last twelve (12) minutes. EXEPT in the final game the three
periods will last fifteen (15) minutes.
|
- Rule 19. A difference
of seven (7) goals between the two (2) teams will end the game after
a minimum of two (2) complete periods. In the third period, as soon
as there is a difference of seven (7) goals, the game ends automatically.
|
- Rule 20. The ice surface
will be REMADE after the second period of each game.
|
- Rule 21. In the prelimenary
rounds, the overtime will be played as followed, after the application
of the Fair play (Franc jeu) rule: One five (5) minutes timed
period with a line-up of 4 on 4 (with exception of penalized players
that have to serve their penalty). First goal ends the game.
After the five (5) minutes overtime period, of it's still tied,
their will be a shoot-out.
After every Tournament game, if there's a tie between the two
(2) teams, the referee will ask the coachs to designate three (3) players
for the first round of the shoot-out. If there's still a tie after the
first round, coachs will designate one at the time, the players to take
part of the shoot-out. All players must have participate (except the
goaltender) before a player can participate a second time.
A player who was in the penalty box at the end of the overtime,
can participate in the shoot-out.
The receiving team has the choice to go first or second in the
shoot-out.
After the choice is made, the team sends his first player that
tries to score, after that, the first player of the other team tries
to do the same ans so on, until the three players of each team has pass.
The coaches choices don't represent the order in wich the players will
participate in the shoot-out.
Penalty shot rules are applied.
The shots are taken one after the other, one at the time and
no simultaneous shots on the goaltender will be allowed.
The team that scored the most goals his this complete round will
win the game.
When a second or third round is needed to break up the tie, the
order of the players is at the discretion of the coachs and can differ
from the order of the first round.
Thus, each round, every player finishing the game will have to
participate in the shoot-out before a player can shoot again.
The game ends when the tie is broken, after that both players
have taken their shots.
EXEPT THE SEMI-FINAL AND FINAL GAMES.

- Rule 22. If there's a
tie in the semi-final or final games, after the application of the Fair
play (Franc jeu) rule, there will be a overtime period of ten (10) minutes
stopped time with a 4 on 4 line-up (plus one goaltender) except penalty
cases (complying to game rules). The first goal scored ends the game.
If the tie is persisting, there will be a shoot-out as described earlier.

- Rule 23. All protest
must be signified not more than an hour after the end of the game, to
the Tournament's REGISTRAIRE. This protest must be accompanied with
a deposit of two hundred dollars (200$) in cash.
